History of wheat straw art

In Nepal , wheat straw hand work was introduced before many years with unknown date.In the beginning, the farmers used it as a fuel in cooking.Later they had begun to use in the form of roofing and walling.In this way, as the time rolled on year after year the framers developed the hand work in the form of flat hat (like umbrella) to protect from sun and rain and fan to cool body.In the beginning of 2o th century when the hand work came out from village to town city it changed into straw piece like ,wall hanging ,straw plate,basket,temple,Portrait etc with no beautiful activities.But , the artist SHYAM KRISHNA K.C. introduce a unique and new expression of art in Nepal or art using tiny pieces of wheat straw and onion peels as a medium in 2019 B.S his first art is Taj Mahal.
